I may change my mind but...

I think I'm over this blog.
I'll probably just stick to my photo one.

Peace

Halloween Party

It was fun that Sam let us use his photo booth for the party.
I made some simple decor for the backdrop and we had some ridiculous props. Voila.

It was really beautiful up there.

Bands for the head.

Made some headbands the other night because I lost all of my other ones. They turned out cute.
Just get some ribbon, sew on some trimming+a bit of elastic on back. Voila.

The Marshmallow Test

This is kind of funny...
These little kids have a single marshmallow put in front of them and they try to wait 10 minutes before eating it in order to get a second marshmallow.

I really like that a lot of the kids smell it.
I remember when 10 minutes seemed like an eternity at that age.

New One

Last night Drew told me I said:

"you know, like, someone else"

Incase you missed what this is for...I have a list going.

I feel like writing.

I really enjoy how funny life can be--I'm thinking of the people that come and go.

I was talking with a friend about this recently and its a simple thought but absolute truth: if you want good friends, then
be a good friend.
(We all screw up, I know, but I'm being generic here.)

The people in my life right now (and in yours, too, most likely) have been or will be "sifted," if you will; the ones that remain in my life after all these years are because they are real friends.

A real friend is hard to find.
You know, friends that get excited for you, that genuinely care about your life and whats going on in it, that you can be honest with, that support you and your dreams.
I'm thankful that I have friends like that ...and that the guy I married is the best friend I've ever had.
It is a rarity and a true, serious blessing.

(Side note: Something I've noticed is that being competitive is my first internal sign/flag that we're not really that good of friends. Sure, it happens sometimes with even the best of friends but when I get that vibe the majority of the time I'm around someone, thats not good; its exhausting and, frankly, usually one-sided on their part.)

Its also strange how friendships can get destroyed. Its strange how some recover and others just don't. I've made a lot of mistakes in the past with different relationships. I could say that it's because I was screwed by the other person, but I know that it was because I hurt them first that they reacted the way they did. (And if I did hurt them it was most likely not on purpose, of course.)
I mean, that wasn't the case in every situation, some people are just crazy/didn't like me to begin with, but you know what I mean.
Misunderstandings and mistakes can escalate and then blow up into something you didn't know it could. Girls are some of the most difficult people to recover friendships with. I think thats why the majority of my friends at one point in my past were guys; they are easy to be around and relatively drama free.

I like when I meet new people. I'm interested in their life story and getting to know them and all that...
Its just strange how long it takes to get to "that level"...you know what Im talking about. It's hard to find people who get our sense of humor as well as the whole "vibe" thing...haha.

We've been through good times and bad since high school, have forgiven each other after the crappy times and have all grown up a little in our own ways.
We'll all always have room to grow, but I'm glad we're doing it all together.
(Next year, Bethany has just informed me, will be our (Rach, Erin, Bethany, Ashley and I) 10 year friend anni! Hahaa)

I love my friends.

The human body/the mind is amamazinggg.

So I've never had a kid, but when I do, Im planning on trying to do everything as natural as possible.
I don't believe that birth is an emergency; its the way its been since the beginning of time.
I've also always been fascinated with how the mind/body work together.
When I mix these two together I see that God has everything set up in the most beautiful way, if you let it be that way.

Well, I want to go on explaining what I mean/discussing it all, but then this would be a long post.
So to sum up it up:

A friend showed this to me...it is amazing.

I watched both of these videos as well as a few of the other UCs.
(Boys, you might not want to watch this.)

Take what you will, but Im about 90% on board with this lady.
Some of what she says is a little far for me, but her base point of "you can do this!" is awesome.
Attitude, honestly, is everything and if you can truly control your mind, your body will follow.
Wow, I sound SO new-agey right now. Hahaha

I'd be interested in hearing what you ladies think about this--moms and not-moms alike.

Wedding

I've said it before: My husband, Drew, and his partner Ben have a videography business.
Their specialty: weddings.
This one is from the other week...such a cute couple.
(If I remember correctly they're about the same age Drew and I were when we got hitched: she 18 and he 20)

Enjoy.
